Vancouver police car

Our image of a speeding police car, taken from the 23rd floor of the Coast Hotel in Vancouver, made it to print. This image was found through our blog and used for E-Comm 9-1-1, the regional emergency communications centre for southwest British Columbia. We also sold 5 images to the Government of Alberta recently for an [...]
Happy Halloween

October 31st is drawing near. Do you know what you have to fear? Every Halloween people carve out the large orange fruit and light some candles. Why you might ask? Because that is what the Celtic ancestors that immigrated here did and what their ancestors before them did. You see there is a thought that [...]
Splash

This was fun. We did a whole series of “splashes” with different types of glasses and colours of liquids. Messy though. Oh well, we eventually got the timing done to catch the spashes.
Field of peas (or dreams depending on the year)

I grew up on a farm in sunny southwest Saskatchewan. This trail is just behind the yard on the home quarter. In case you were wondering what a whole quarter section of field peas looked like mid season here you go. If you weren’t then just enjoy the tranquility of Saskatchewan’s big sky and watch [...]
raindrops

Raindrops on wheat. This was actually shot during filming of a TV commercial when I was working as an account manager (and capturing the behind the scenes shots). The wheat was sprayed with water to make it look like it had just rained.
Anyone have the time?

My dad collects almost anything that is antique and western. These pocket watches I thought were interesting. The photo is retouched to make it look a little old itself.
Asmodeus

You might not have known this but gambling has its own demon (instead of a saint I guess). This is Asmodeus. Well not an exact likeness since he wouldn’t pose but our best photo illustration of the concept. No wonder we avoid the casinos.
homeless series

Two discarded sofas in the weirdest of places – beside a walking path in the middle of a green space – gave me the idea for a homeless series. Mark and I have talked about doing a series on homeless which is something we see everyday in downtown Calgary. We want to capture their stories [...]
23 floors up, police car below

The 23rd floor. Never stayed in a hotel with a balcony 23 stories up. Don’t much like heights but I sucked it up to look over the sturdy (yes I checked) barrier to enjoy the view. You could see the ocean and the ships coming into Vancouver at sunset. Beautiful. But directly below, on Denham [...]
