Mark has over 25 years in design and print production and yet still maintains a youthful, creative enthusiasm. Unreal.

He has laid out a number of books, hundreds of annual reports and variety of marketing materials. His career included 18 years with the Creative Team at TransAlta that led to a position of Team Lead.  He has spent a decade at investor relations firm ensuring annual reports were good for print, photos were retouched and everything looked good. He is particularly adept at Photoshop work and a bit of a wizard with PowerPoint.

One of our clients is REDI-BC, the Regional Economic Development Initiative. They wanted to make a copy heavy, fairly dry piece stand out.

Colourful design and clean layout worked out well.

For a previous assignment we were tasked with creating something different – not your usual corporate  brochure.  Their brief for creating a “Best Practices” brochure mentioned that their other pieces weren’t embraced by the field staff because the content is quite dry.

But the information in this piece will ultimately assist with writing the proposals that win the grants for rural economic intitiatives. And since they see so many proposals that have to go back for more information they really felt this piece could assist the companies applying.

Their metaphor for the pieces was like the dragon slayer  rescuing the princess. Dramatic eh? We thought it was akin to the Wizard’s Book of Secrets which we turned into the Book of Best Practices.

Scrolls, parchment, leather looking cover and a gemstone in their corporate colours created the look .

Mark has created presentations for oil and gas corporations for a number of years including complex animations, graphs and maps.

Book layout, cover art, logos, and marketing materials round out the mix.
